History: Born to George and Candice Bennett on August 8th 1983, Emilie Lynn Bennett is a twenty-seven year old Australian. She is an only child but while she was growing up she had a pet cat so she never felt lonely. Like any only child, she was obviously spoiled, getting a large amount of presents on Christmas and her birthday, having her own bedroom with the latest new toy, her own TV, even a walk-in closet.
A good life like that could only last so long.
It was the night of September 17th 1989 when the small Australian family were walking home from catching a movie when they were suddenly attacked. Of course none of them knew what was going on but George was suddenly pushed to the ground while poor Emilie stood and watched as her mother was killed. Her brain couldn't understand what was happening but she must have been crying and screaming because minutes later a few neighbors came outside to their aid, but it was too late for Candice.
Being only four when it had happened, Emilie managed to move on with her life. She didn't grow up to be constantly depressed or to have any problems, she was actually just a normal girl, and her father was glad to see that what had happened hadn't affected his daughter. She went to school, made friends and was always very outgoing. Until the nightmares started.
They began when she was fifteen and only became more and more vivid each time it returned. It was only one nightmare, and it wasn't really a dream, it was a memory. Almost every night Emilie would see her mother die in front of her and each night more and more details flooded towards her. Like how her mother's attacker was usually pale and how even her father hadn't been able to fight him off (her father was quite strong, after all). Then one night she remembered just what had happened. When her father had been knocked to the ground, Emilie had seen it all. The man had bit her mother's throat. It never made any sense to her but for some reason she believed that it had happened, so she began her research.
She shut herself off from anyone then. Her friends began to hate her because she would never want to hang out, her father was getting confused as to why she was always at home or at the library. She never let her grades suffer though, of course she wasn't a straight 'A' student but she did the best she could. It didn't take long for her to discover who or exactly, what had killed her mother, but it took her months to actually believe it.
A vampire.
She began to research every lure of vampires she could and that was when she found other things of the supernatural, werewolves, spirits, wendigos.. What in the world is a wendigo?! The more and more she researched about it, the more she began to believe it. That was when she realized what she wanted to do, she needed to hunt these things, to rid the world of them. For her mother.
She needed a plan in order to disappear for months at a time, she wouldn't let her father know about this plan. So she picked science as her new best friend and worked her hardest in all those classes, then applied to a few Forensic Science programs in college. Much to her and George's excitement, she was accepted into a few schools. The perfect alibi. She would say she was gone off to college so she wouldn't be able to be at home for months and her father would never question it.
With the car that George had given her for her sixteenth birthday, Emilie packed everything up, said her good byes to her father and drove off. She had been training for the last few months of school in order to be in good enough shape to fight these things, and she had some training in the weapons she'd need but overall she was ready. At eighteen, she had no idea how long her life as a hunter would go on for, but she was prepared to do it until the day she died.
Role play Sample: "God damnit!"
A hand whacked the radio in her car, causing the music that was playing to stop. With the sudden rainstorm, Emilie Bennett knew it would be a stupid idea to drive through it with her music blasting. Her father had always told her never to drive in danger conditions and she would consider this rain to fit that criteria. It wasn't nearly as dangerous as the way she was living her life, but it would suck if she ended up dying because of some stupid accident that she could have avoided by just stopping for a tiny bit of time. Too bad there was nowhere to stop, and she didn't plan on just pulling over onto the side of the highway. That was the stuff horror movies were made of, not like she couldn't handle herself if she was in one, she'd just like to avoid the situation whenever possible.
"'Oh, it doesn't look like it's gonna rain at all, just keep on driving, Emilie.' Yeah, last time I take advice from myself."
The girl's voice laced with her slight Australian accent was the only noise in the car now, besides the windshield wipers that were working on the outside to make sure she could actually see. It was always nice to see whenever she was about to drive right off the road and into a ditch. Thankfully, blue eyes caught sight of a welcome sign, the familiar ones that let people know exactly what town they were entering. The girl found herself smiling as she pictured the diners that would, no doubt, be waiting for her once she pulled in. The soft, dry, and crappy motel bed that would be waiting for her after she had gotten a good meal in her stomach. Then, she'd try to find some work.
Hunts didn't seem to come around that often anymore, but that didn't mean that Emilie didn't have her hands full. More and more demons were popping up everyday and it was easy to tell when a demon was coming to town. She could remember when she had the hardest time trying to figure out the patterns and signals that would appear when a demon was on their way, but now electrical storms were a dead giveaway. Of course, not that some of them weren't just storms but Emilie found herself constantly checking places out, just to make sure.
There was nothing that had brought her to this particular town, she had just happened to be driving that way and now, since this thunderstorm had hit, the Australian found herself needing to stop and stay, at least until the storm let up. If that storm cloud that she couldn't see the end to had any say in the matter, Emilie knew she'd be staying for at least the night, and maybe well into tomorrow. Oh well, it would be nice to have a mini break, and she'd at least get a good sleep with the sounds of the rain helping her out. That was always so soothing.
Seeing human life, Emilie's eyes began darting around for a place to eat. She wanted to get food in her system and then go and just lie down. Maybe take a shower and just relax. If she had went straight to a motel, the girl knew she wouldn't be getting up for food anytime soon. The thought of going straight to the motel passed her mind when she drove right by one. Oh, it looked so comfy as well. Control, Emilie. You'll be lying down watching pay-per-view soon enough.
There were only a few other cars in the parking lot of the diner she found, so she pulled into a spot that was close to the door. Despite being that close to the door, the woman managed to get wet as she ran from her car into the building. It was almost like walking into a movie scene. Muffled music was playing from some hidden radio and the costumers that were already inside were silent as they ate. The kitchen was silent, only because she assumed that they didn't have to cook anything at that time, well she would change that. Pushing some wet strands of hair from her face, she found herself a seat in an empty booth, assuming that there wouldn't be a mad rush anytime soon, so they shouldn't mind if she had a four-person spot to herself. Within a few moments, a waitress came over to deliver the menu, before taking her drink order and disappearing once again.
